DESCRIPTION
The beginning of the Winter in a Russian village – the most lovely subject for any artist. While choosing a traditional motive Sergey uses a new compositional solution for this picture, taking into account the principles of the backward perspective. The view of the artist seems to be floating in the air. The house, the river and the trees are becoming small like toys and sinking in the infinite Winter landscape. The view of the land that is so pleasing for the heart, the land that is so far away and close at the same time, rings the warm and sad note in our soul, a note that we call nostalgia.
