DESCRIPTION
The southern landscape offers so much of everything: greenery, sea, sun, light and color. Sergey has chosen this subject but denies thick and pasty painting manner. In contrary he paints very flatly adding ceruse and achieving the feeling of half-transparency of the paints. There is no multicolor spots here, only considerate planes – somewhat unexpected for an unprepared spectator: red sky and white water. “Negative proof” gives an amazing result – the full feeling of the hot sun, aroma of warm water that is mixed with the freshness of the seabreeze. All of these are so attractive at a southern shore.
