DESCRIPTION
The subject of the “Pomors” picture is very simple – two old people, probably a married couple are sitting in the boat by the water with their modest catch of fish. The artist’s wide expressive manner does not interfere with the ultimate laconism of the picture. We see the whole life story of the people from the severe North depicted in minimum details. It makes you think about the eternity of nature, frailty of life and the unfailing courage of human spirit.
