DESCRIPTION
This picture is an example of Julia Bobrova’s favourite painting genre that is a portrait. The young woman is lying with a book on the summer meadow by the country house. However, it is not her who is the central figure of the canvas but the soft colored shadows changing and vibrating constantly. They seem caressing the girl’s white skin, getting caught in the folds of her clothes and vanishing in the little blue flowers of the meadow. Despite the motionless figure, the large color planes and rich decorative effects the picture give you the feeling of the summer serenity, quietness and bliss.
