DESCRIPTION
Traditions of Russian and West European schools of realism have had a great influence on the evolution of Chinese realist paintings. Nevertheless studies of Chinese art inspires young Russian artists and pushes them to be more experimental in their works.
This painting displays Julia’s interest in the traditions of Chinese art: brilliance and mystery shimmer in the golden background, a couple of red-headed cranes, a decorative tree on the second plane, a girl’s hair do – altogether gives an Eastern aroma to a quite traditional full grown portrait.
