DESCRIPTION
Alexander likes to recall city piers in his paintings. In this work we can see Lt. Shmidt Embankment – one of the mooring places of the Neva river, the main artery in St. Petersburg. Moderate and bright colors of the painting makes it closer to the old Leningrad art school masters. It means there is a good tradition in fine art education at the Russian Academy of Arts. That is the tradition that transits the culture of the profession from generation to generation.
