DESCRIPTION
The small picture “Winter St. Petersburg” by Dmitry Ermolov naturally reveals the atmosphere of the city on the Neva river on a gloomy frosty day. We see one of the remarkable views of St. Petersburg where Millionnaya Street opens to the Palace Square. On the right we see the stunning beauty of the Winter Palace, built by the Russian architect of Italian origin Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli; on the left we see the panorama of the Palace Square with the Alexander Column in the center, and in the distance there is the outline of the magnificent Saint Isaac’s Cathedral with the trees of the Alexander Garden at its bottom. This is a wonderful view admired by a lot of generations of those who live in St. Petersburg and who are eager to share it with everybody who can appreciate real beauty.
