DESCRIPTION
It is not surprising that the members of the artist’s family are frequently the heroes of his paintings. Understanding a woman and wishing to look deeper into her inner world make the artist choose close someone as a model. Sergei Nekrasov is not an exception to this rule. We see his friend and muse Julia Bobrova in the picture. He depicts her in winter warm clothes at the background of the woodpile with a fluffy black and white cat in her arms. The face of the young woman is white, almost transparent because of the frost and only her delicate blush and rose lips reveal a living breath to her body. The lush fur hat hiding her head, neck and shoulders make the model look like a small wolf or a grown up Little Robber from the “The Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Anderson.
