DESCRIPTION
In the “Going their way” canvas the artist refers to the biblical plot “The Flight into Egypt”, one of the most attractive stories of the Bible. The faithful mother accompanied by her devoted elderly husband is embracing the Christ Child, all guided by God’s will to escape the imminent death. The life of the Christ Child is to mark the future border between the old and new epochs, influencing the whole world. The history of arts knows a lot of variants of the story. However this theme of love and salvation keeps attracting painters.
