A couple of words about my technique: In the beginning I feel like a magician who conjures over the canvas. I put an underpainting, textured by a palette knife, wait for the texture to dry out… or not sometimes. Then I glaze, apply the paint pasty or with a dry brush over the texture, then glaze again and lay potal… or compose spots of potal on the sheet, to be precise. After this, I start to work out the next structures, if it is an architecture landscape then houses and streets need to be constructed first. Then I begin to work on details or draw using a brush to leave the texture and coloring from the previous stages intact. When the process of working out the details is finished, then comes the time to generalize the painting.
Some elements are glazed then worked on again but within other tones and glazed again. Some places need contrast, a brightness of color. Others in contrary need to reduce? the color. In total it is a long process, finished only when details of the painting stop existing separately and start to live inside the picture, transforming themselves into an organic whole.
